CORROSION PROOF CEMENT

Furochem  is a  chemical  setting  furan – based  cement . This  cement  is a  carefully  balanced

Combination   of  Furan   liquid  and   filler  having  such  desirable  properties  as  high  chemical resistance, non-porous and low shrinkage

Furochem withstands  more  different  kinds of corrosives than most other types of cements. It is resistance  to  practically  non - oxidizing  acids , alkalis , salts , greases and detergents. It is not suitable for strong oxidizing acids such as Nitric acids.

Furochem can be used at temperature upto 175 degree C. Furochem cement mortar is designed primarily for the jointing of Acid  proof  brick  and  tile  for  the  protection  of  steel  and  concrete reaction vessels , storage tanks , sumps , perish , absorption  towers , fumes stacks and pickling lines . Such equipment has been used in the pulps , paper , steel , non- ferrous  metals , fertilizer, leather , textile and chemical processing industries.

PREPARATION OF FUROCHEM CEMENT MORTAR

Furochem cement is prepared by combining Furochem liquid with  Furochem  powder  to  form  a workable mix . The mixing ratio is 1 part liquid to 3 - part  powder  by  weight . The  ratio  is  very slightly  depends  on  Temp.  and  working  condition . Stir  the Furochem liquid thoroughly before using , place 1 part  liquid  in a  suitable shallow mixing pan , add 3 parts of Furochem powder by weight , mix thoroughly and rapidly to form a smooth mortar .

APPLICATION OF FUROCHEM CEMENT

Furochem cement is buttered on Acid proof  brick  using  the  usual  brick  layers  method  where bedding  and  pointing  cement  is  one . In  case  of  bedding  and  pointing cements are different Furochem is better for pointing to the  joints of  bricks . The  joints  must  be  dry  and  free  from foreign  matter  such  as  construction  dust , Portland  cement , plaster  and  other contaminates which would interfere with the setting of the cement .

STORAGE

Store Furochem liquid and powder at low temperature in  the  original  unopened  containers  until ready for use.
